It does give them more of a right to torment more than it gives others the right to slaughter. There's a world of difference between feeling crap about yourself and picking on people because of it and going out and feeling crap about yourself and killing someone because of it.
I see your point about "occasionally" being the jerk. At least partly.
But how do you think the "victims" felt in those isolated instances when you were a$$hole? Do you think they liked it? Would it be OK if they felt like killing you? Hey, it would be the little guy getting revenge; right? Or is it different now?
Doesn't the thought that near-anyone (most likely including everyone reading this) has it in them to be the jerk mean anything? Doesn't that make the hostility some of you feel a little less vibrant? Or no?
