09/15/02: Re: lotsa people

I've seen a number of choleric and dour things over the years, but Grendude's exegeses really take the cake. To begin with, if you can go more than a minute without hearing Grendude talk about corporatism, you're either deaf, dumb, or in a serious case of denial. Some people consider his witticisms a necessary evil, but the truth is that someone once said to me, "It's no secret that scrutinizing Grendude's litanies may be instructive in this regard." This phrase struck me so forcefully that I have often used it since.

I am intellectually honest enough to admit my own previous ignorance in that matter. I only wish that Grendude had the same intellectual honesty. Easy as it may seem to strip the unjust power from those who seek power over others and over nature, it is far more difficult to upbraid him for being so prissy. This is well illustrated in what remains one of the most divisive issues of our day: emotionalism. When people say that bigotry and hate are alive and well, they're right. And Grendude is to blame. He is doing everything in his power to make me develop a subconscious death wish. The only reason I haven't yet is that I believe in the four P's: patience, prayer, positive thinking, and perseverance.

We must set the stage so that my next letter will begin from a new and much higher level of influence. If we fail in this, we are not failing someone else; we are not disrupting some interest separate from ourselves. Rather, it is we who suffer when we neglect to observe that Grendude not only lies, but he brags about his lying to his spokesmen. I am being thoroughly serious when I say that either he has no real conception of the sweep of history, or he is merely intent on winning some debating pin by trying to pierce a hole in my logic with "facts" that are taken out of context. Considering that to my mind, Grendude's ruses show a degree of harebrained sickness that even I didn't expect, I offer that if this letter did nothing else but serve as a beacon of truth, it would be worthy of reading by all right-thinking people. However, this letter's role is much greater than just to get Grendude off our back. Now that you've read this letter, let me challenge you, the reader, not just to help me eschew complacent nativism, but also to educate others about what I've written.
