09/18/97: Godfather rules

Yo Cranky, What are you saying? Moe Green and Jack Woltz were nowhere near being the backbones to the Godfather story. The true tale, is of the succession of the Corleone family, as well as a major mob war, and a message of male supremecy. This being demonstrated in two ways. Mama Corleone, the maternal aspect of the Corleone family who remains nameless throughout the movie. And the very end, in whcih Michael shuts Kay out of his office while in a meeting with Rocco and Clemenza, as if saying, "This is not a place for women". Yet, it is also the story of family. Never is the word mafia or Cosa NOstra mentioned, it is always the "Family Buisness". The Godfather's death scene is another testament to this fact. A character of this type would normally be expected to die on the spot in the middle of some illegal operation. But instead, he dies peacefully playing with his grandson. A family member. How you can say that a movie like this is junk is totally beyond me.
