Come on the movie did have some really low points, but it wasn't as bad as everyone thinks. It was just really disappionting after all that hype. They spent millions on those stupid ads which overhyped the movie. It could have done much more business. They could have had just a few posters and keeping Godzilla's new look secret. That was enough. But after the overhype and bad word of mouth the B.O. stats went down; way, way, way down. R&E could have had more time to edit the film but they said no. Foolish decision. They even admitted they should have edited more and that it was a bad script. Anyways, I liked it. The FX were okay, and I did like the scenes with Godzilla. But the acting, my God!, I could've just jumped into the screen and kicked everyone of them in the head. And what was with the Siskel & Ebert joke? It ruined a lot of the movie. They wanted revenge because they panned Independence Day so they made those stupid characters. Didn't thet get enough justice from making $800 million from it!? They are idiots. The only good parts were the monster parts. I'd give it ***/****. And they DO plan to make a sequel. It's been getting a lot of good business overseas.
