A CD-R full of MP3s can't be played in a normal CD player - in order to get a CD-R playable the MP3s are reconfigured so that you can fit up to 74 (or 80) minutes worth on a disc.

Also, 128 is pretty good, but it's hardly "CD quality". I've downloaded many MP3s where, thanks to the ideosyncracies of those who first made the MP3s, the sound is kinda wierd (the guitars drown out the vocals, the overall sound is too quiet, it seems to be entirely focused in my left speaker, etc)

For everyone: In case Napster is shut down, is Gnutella any good? I have no interest in downloading movies (why would I want to spend many, many hours downloading a movie that's going to look and sound like shit on my computer?) but I do want to keep getting MP3s.
