Gnutella annoys me almost as much as Napster. Both are truely half-hacked pieces of trash. The *only* thing Gnutella has going for it is that it is Open Source, and a lot of Open Source Zealots have a hard-on for it. If you want a well-engineered solution for media theft, use CuteMX. Yes, it can share movies and other media as well as MP3s, but you can select what kind of files you want to search.
The fact that a fair number of people use CuteMX for sharing legal material also makes it at least half-way respectable in my book.
