03/22/05: Aren't We All?

I find it rather ironic that Mr. Cranky, the brilliant reviewer that he is, affectionately deems politicians and the like, "Grandstanding Media Whores". Well, Cranky and you and I might as well be apart of that group. I agree with the aspects of Terry Schiavo, Churchill and steroids in baseball in this particular rant, as those are issues dealing with morality and common sense, but I for one am pretty sick and fucking tired of the non-stop "Bush is this, Bush is that, waa waa waa" whine-fest that I've been hearing non-stop ever since he was elected into office. I believe that using quotes around the word President very disrespectful, further enforcing the irony that Cranky just elaborated on how un-American Churchill was being. I just think the "Bush is an ignorant prick" angle is fashionable, as are the constant rants about how he lies and so on and so forth. Hey, none of us, not even me, will ever get the full picture beyond what is filtered into our brains via a news program. Step into a President's shoes, Democrat or Republican, and see what it's like trying to keep a country together and ignore the whining from an opposing political party. I believe it's safe to say that if the aforementioned subjects are "Grandstanding Media Whores", then so are the rest of us, but in different ways. I still think Cranky writes very good reviews though, and that's all I'll read. Hell, if I didn't care about this site I wouldn't be writing my own opinion in the first place.
