If they're not engaged in blatant image building by casting themselves as stereotypical doctors and lawyers a la Bill Cosby (you'll rarely see a black star as a plumber or a janitor), they're casting themselves in ghetto baggy clothes, struggling to get a piece of the pie in spite of whitey roles. They ought to do a big screen version of Sanford & Son and double bill it with a big screen version of the Jeffersons.
