..."Hedwig" would be your choice for best Song Score of the year???
(I'm in desparate need of some other winner for that category besides "Moulin Rouge," which is already guaranteed more wins than I can write stuff about.)
Though "Hedwig" was in my top 5 of the year, I will agree with your assessment of the ending. I believe that's exactly where the movie lost its way. I can say that about a whole lotta movies this year. Not too many like "Memento," "Ghost World" and "No Man's Land" (my three choices ahead of "Hedwig") that I can say got it exactly right...
