MY gripes here are: OVER-OBSESSIOn on the Beatles-speaking of which, wikl Dakota Fanning have to put up with being called "Lucy DFiamond" all her life (she was one of the few things I like at thsi time about the flick)
The ABBEY ROAD cover has been "homaged"-ed so many times..I was glad to see the Bob Dylan cover "mocked uo" in Cameron Crowe's Paramount release "Vanilla Sky" (out at the time of "I AM SAM", in late 2001-early 2002). with Tom Cruise and Penny Cruz (FREEWHEELIN' BD,Columbia,1963).
Then there is the issue of the fact that even mentically handicapped advocates might not feel comofratable with a film featuring someone related to the subject, and then wilst they're tryin' to apprecaite this, their beloved Beatles songs get linked. Ergo, before they can appreciate the PRESENCE of a "retarded type", they'll stop liking Beatles songs.
Some parts of this were good, but Jessie Nelson,PLEASE stop jerkinin'that SteadiCam or whatever that was--too much starbucks from Sam, perhaps (not to mention the ambilvalent way the flick ENDS-I won't spoil it for you who haven't seen it.)
