07/26/07: Oh we can impeach him, we just can't remove him

It only takes a majority of house members to impeach. But impeachment would merely bring Bush up for a trial in the Senate, where we would need 67 votes to remove that ignorant lying bastard from office. That would mean all the Democrats and 16 Repubbies would have to vote for removal. That's highly unrealistic because THE MAJORITY OF REPUBLICANS IN THIS COUNTRY STILL SUPPORT THAT BUMBLING NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT. Therefore, it would be a colossal waste of our Congresses time to go down that path. Also, it would take a measure of guts and backbone to Impeach Bush and Cheney which our Congress seems to lack. I've seen a room full of eunuchs with more balls than our Democratic Congress. It would take up most of the rest of Bush’s term, which is a good thing, as it might keep that fool from causing even more trouble, as everything he touches turns sour. However, if that were done, our congress would indeed become the do-nothing congress that most Americans now perceive it to be.

That being said, I’m for impeaching Bush and Cheney. They deserve it. Or do they? I mean all they did was lie us into a war,** spy on civilians without proper judicial authorization, give no-bid contracts worth billions to friends and business associates, trash our constitution, get 3700 of our troops killed, and killed about a half-million Iraqis. It’s not like they got blowjobs from interns or anything serious.

Good god, do they ever deserve impeachment. They deserve impeachment even more than the fair, beautiful, and multi-talented Lauren Graham deserves to never actually meet me in person. Or at least that’s what the restraining order would have you believe.

.

**They had preplanned this war prior to 9/11. The Bush Administration cherry picked intelligence and flat out lied about other items, such as Saddam being tied to 9/11 to get to invade Iraq and fulfill Bush’s and PNAC’s (Project for the New American Century) vision. Note that a few days ago, Bush gave a speech where he stated we must “stay the course” in Iraq because our main enemy there, Al Qaeda in Iraq, was responsible for 9/11. Never mind that there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq organization prior to our invasion, Al Qaeda is NOT our main enemy in Iraq (Iraqi insurgents are), and Saddam never had anything to do with either Al Qaeda or 9/11.
