to help raise money for the feature film. It's a damned shame that Dieter Dengler died (ALS) six years ago and didn't get a chance to see it.

According to his Wiki, he flew professionally as a test pilot nearly until the day he died. In that capacity he crashed four more times. You might say he was the Windows PC of test pilots. Actually, you wouldn't say it, but I would.

Dieter Dengler sounds like he was an amazing individual. The film, staring Christian Bale, is pulling 89% Fresh over all and 84% Fresh with the creamers. It opens a week from tomorrow.

I have the feeling that with Herzog's genius and his high regard for the subject with whom he spent a lot of time, we'll be seeing the real Dieter Dengler on the screen.
