03/25/98: This was a slow moving, Disneyesque letdown...

Posted By: Kramer

I am a huge Dumas fan, and consider the man in the iron mask one of his best works of literature. The movie reminded me of that piece of shit disney Three Musketeers a few years back. Why do these directors make the same mistakes over and over? I will say taht everyone was cast well, except for Gabriel Byrne. He is a great actor , mind you, but he just did not add the pizazz that was needed to be D'artagnan.

As For Dicaprio, I think he is a punk for being such a pussy and not showing up at the oscars because he was not nominated. That shows real maturity. I have to admit that he is quite a good actor, but still a crybaby little shit for pulling that move.

If you realy liked the movie, read the book. It will show you just how boring and cliched the movie really is. I almost walked out of the theatre after hearing "all for one, one for all" after the 100th time. C'mon guys, stop trivializing great works of literature with amateurish "movie for the masses" melodrama.
