Why would he need a French accent? Because it's set in France? Then he should speak the language as well. Actually, dramatically, the only time that an accent is neccessary is when there's a character who's an outsider... ex: An American family entertains a French foreign exchange student. Then, he would need the accent. But in a movie where most or all the characters are French, it is not neccessary. Where's Hercules' accent on "Hercules"???
