01/09/08: Why did you put "treatment" in "quotation marks"?

It's not some half-assed wishy washy liberal wet dream, it's a rigorous psychological program that lasted 8 years. It sounds like a pretty serious attempt at rehabilitation. I don't know whether he's truly rehabilitated or not, but *if* he is, and he's served his time, why shouldn't he be a free man?

Note the *if*. I suspect most arguments will be along the lines of "people like that can't be rehabilitated", which I agree with for the most part. However, I'm not a psychiatrist and *if* he is really, truly, for real rehabilitated, and has served out his sentence, the state has no right to keep him prisoner. Isn't that a very libertarian notion?
