I posted this elsewhere, but going way back to our child- care bitchout thread of a coupla years ago...
As a new father of two gorgeous twins, I've a question:
Do you think it's possible to raise kids in today's materialistic USA to be good people with morals and ethics WITHOUT using the intellectually-stifling techniques of threats and guilt of Christianity? I really don't want to have to resort to Guilt and Hell in raising my kids, but since that is how both wife & I were raised, I'm currently at a loss to think of how to go abou this. I'm curious of how other people with less-religious backgrounds have accomplished this. I know that convenor himself (I think) has Christian leanings, so I'm curious of his answer (although if memory serves me, convenor doesn't have any children of his own, but helps his Ms. raise some? Apologies for assumptions, if incorrect).
I've got a few years before worrying about this, as right now, it's simply feed-belch-change-sleep-repeat.
