what is your fondest memory as a kid?

When I was four years old, we moved to New Orleans and my grandparents came down to help us move and to take care of my baby sister. and then they took me-- just me-- back up to dallas with them. i got to spend two days with my grandparents, all by myself-- which is EXTREMELY rare when you're one of 30 grandkids. we stopped at my great-aunt and uncle's house to spend the night and i had a nightmare, so my great-uncle Jack told me this story about horses. i still remember those two days so clearly (i even remember the nightmare).

what was the worst accident you ever got into when you were a kid?

i was a really, really careful kid, apparently. the worst thing i can remember is falling down and scraping up my knees. i had scabs for a LONG time.

what did you want to be when you grew up?

a writer

are you that now?

working on it

why/why not?

because i'm just that damn stubborn

what kind of kid were you?
(bully/nerd/mischevious/daredevil/ quite type/etc...)

um... not that different from how i am today, actually. except shorter :) mainly, i liked to tell stories and act out scenes from books. and i was always the type to have good friends but appreciate alone time.

what would you tell the adult self if you were to go forward in time to the present as a kid?

i would probably tell myself to keep drinking milk. it makes a body good, you know.

what would your adult self tell the kid if you were to go back in time to visit yourself?

I would tell myself to avoid pissing off my junior high school math teacher.

what was your least favorite vegetable?

cabbage. :-P ick.

your most favorite food?

probably pizza. didn't have real discerning tastes as a child :)

your favorite toy?

i always loved that Labyrinth game, the one with the little silver balls and you had to turn the knobs to get the ball through the maze and... this isn't making ANY sense at all, is it?

how did you discover about the birds and the bees?

when my mom got pregnant with my little sister, they gave me two books: one was a Berenstein Bears book about getting a new baby sister, and the other was a book about how people who love each other give each other "special hugs" and that's how babies are made.

when did you stop believeing in the easter bunny/santa clause/tooth fairy/leprechans/the thing in the closet? (you do realize they aren't real, right? except the thing in the closet. it's still there. it just moved under your bed.)

i figured out that all those cool people that were supposed to visit on major holidays were really my parents when i was four years old. and let me say, i was SORELY disappointed.

and i never believed there were monsters in my closet or under my bed because both places were always so damn messy that i felt reasonably sure that nothing evil could fit in them.
