But that was before the traditionalists made it into some kind of sacred ritual. In the 1800's and the first half of the 1900's the game was played at a lightning fast pace. Now everyone from the pitcher to the batter to the coaches seems intent on slowing the thing down as much as possible. Too bad.
The kids are turned off to the game and it is dying a slow death.
