10/16/03: See, I would say that Graf is one of the all time

greats. Here is the list of women with the most Grand Slam singles title:

Margaret Smith Court 24
Steffi Graf 22
Helen Wills Moody 19
Chris Evert 18
Martina Navratilova 18

I think Navratilova (longevity), Evert (consistency), and Court (quantity) are the 3 best ever. Graf & Moody, I think, round out the top 5 [we'll see what happens with Serena]. Had Seles not been stabbed, I say that Graf tops out at most with 15 Grand Slams & retires a few years earlier. With that she would have been a good player, but not one of the all time greats. As it is, I think she is among the top 5 all time.
