Just wondering. Name any sport that doesn't have it's share of knuckleheaded fans.
As for the "stupidity" of Steve Bartman, it's easy to play Monday-morning quarterback and brand him an idiot. In ANY stadium, a whole bunch of fans would have been trying to catch that foul ball, especially while looking UP in foul territory. It's not like he saw Alou's attempting to make the catch and tried to purposely screw up the play. He made an honest mistake that I'm sure he'd take back in a heartbeat if he could. And for THAT, he deserves physical threats?
Come to think of it, Bartman is a Norte Dame grad, so obviously this is all Slater's fault.
