04/22/04: Interesting list...though the picks are a bit obvious.

50-Celine Dion "My Heart Will Go On" Probably the best Celine Dion song, for what it's worth. Too overplayed, and a Soft AC staple forever.

49-Right Said Fred "I'm Too Sexy" Stupid song but fun. Not quite "bottom 50" material.

48. The Beatles "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" This is the Life Goes On song for those who were wondering. If you're looking for bad Beatles songs, you can find much worse than this. Such as "Mean Mr. Mustard."

47. Bryan Adams "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" Except for Summer of '69, every Bryan Adams song sucks.

46. New Kids On The Block "Hangin' Tough" Horrid. I remember back in the 80's when my sister announced at the dinner table, "I just learned today that Joey McIntyre swallowed Jordan Knight's sperm!"

45. Ja Rule featuring Ashanti "Mesmerize" Never heard it, but most rap sucks anyway....

44. Meat Loaf-"I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Two of Three Ain't Bad, from Bat of of Hell, was a good love song. This one was not.

43. Uncle Kracker-"Follow Me" Yeah, it's pretty bad.

42. Simon And Garfunkel: "The Sound Of Silence" Nah, this is a great tune.

41. Billy Joel-"We Didn't Start The Fire" A lot less deep than most people once thought it was. Can you believe that high school history teachers made their students listen to this in class?!?!

40. Color Me Badd-"I Wanna Sex You Up" Damn, now I can't the chorus out of my head.

39. Ricky Martin-"She Bangs" Ricky is underrated--at the very least, he's the best "bubblegum pop" performer out there.

38. Rednex-"Cotton Eye Joe" This is a fun party song, but it does border on obnoxious.

37. Gerardo-"Rico Suave" I prefer Weird Al's cover, Taco Grande.

36. Master P featuring Silkk, Fiend, Mia X and Mystikal- "Make Em Say Uhh!" I hate this fucking music.

35. R.E.M. "Shiny Happy People" Probably REM's most "pop"- friendly song...and that ain't a good thing.

34. Dan Fogelberg-"Longer" The only Fogelberg song I remember is that minor league staple "Centerfield."

33. Aqua-"Barbie Girl" This belongs in the bottom five.

32. Will Smith-haven't heard it, because once his rap style changed from fun songs to bass anthems, I stopped listening.

31. Crash Test Dummies-"Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" Actually, this one is a guilty pleasure for me...the single's B- side, "Superman's Song," is even better.

30. Whitney Houston-"Greatest Love Of All" Probably her worst "hit" song, despite the fact that it was featured in Silver Spoons...or was that "Saving All My Love for You?"

29. Deep Blue Something-"Breakfast At Tiffany's" Dumbass, it's about a guy trying to salvage his relationship. This whole album rocks.

28. John Mayer-"Your Body Is A Wonderland" I always thought the lyrics were "You're Riding in a Wonderland." Guess that means this one sucks.

27. Europe-"The Final Countdown" Cheesy but brings back fond junior high memories. This whole album is cheesy.

26. The Doors-"The End" I agree that the Doors were overrated, but this tune isn't bad...it's certainly better than Oliver Stone's horrid "biopic."

25. Puff Daddy featuring Faith Evans and 112-"I'll Be Missing You" Actually, this is the only Puff Daddy song that I can stomach.

24. Five For Fighting "Superman" This is a great song. The lead singer has one of the best voices in popular music today.

23. Corey Hart-"Sunglasses At Night" Never heard this one.

22. Toby Keith-"Courtesy Of The Red,White And Blue (The Angry American)" I don't listen to patriotic country music (or any other country music, for that matter).

21. Spin Doctors-"Two Princes" Liked it at the time but thinking now, it is pretty annoying.

20. Lionel Richie "Dancing On The Ceiling" Don't remember this one.

19. Mr. Mister-"Broken Wings" Cheesy and dated, but I still smile whenever hearing it on the radio.

18. Chicago-"You're The Inspiration" Every Chicago ballad sounds the same.

17. Hammer-"Pumps And A Bump." Don't remember it, but it's gotta be better than "Addams Groove."

16. 4 Non Blondes-"What's Up" Overplayed.

15. The Rembrandts-"I'll Be There For You" I always hated this song even without associating it with Friends.

14. Bette Midler-"From A Distance" Crappy.

13. Genesis-"Illegal Alien" Don't remember it.

12. The Beach Boys-"Kokomo" Not as good as their classic surfer tunes from the 50's and 60's...but at reminiscent of them.

11. Clay Aiken-"Invisible" I don't listen to American Idol vocalists. And that includes Ryan Seacrest.

10. Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder-"Ebony And Ivory" Bad yes, but is it really worse than the McCartney-Jacko duet "The Girl is Mine?"

9. Madonna-"American Life" Every Madonna song from the 21st century (except perhaps for "Music") sucks.

8. Eddie Murphy-"Party All The Time" Deserves it's ranking on this list.

7. Bobby McFerrin-"Don't Worry,Be Happy" The most overplayed song this side of "The Sign" by Ace of Base.

6. Huey Lewis And The News-"The Heart Of Rock And Roll" Yeah, this is a bad song. Horribly dated.

5. Vanilla Ice-"Ice Ice Baby" Also ages badly, but I still know the lyrics word-for-word....

4. Limpbizkit-or is it Limp Bizkit? Who cares, they'd suck under any name "Rollin.'" Never heard this one.

3. Wang Chung-"Everybody Have Fun Tonight" Actually, this one is a guilty pleasure for me.

2. Billy Ray Cyrus-"Achy Breaky Heart." Too easy of a target to fairly critique....

1. Starship-"We Built This City" Stoopid, stoopid lyrics...but is it really the WORST?
