But the behavior of Two-inch Dick Cheney's Oil Crony task force has been suspicious, especially as Two-inch Dick refuses to release any information about it at all. Even who was with him in the bunker. It's a perfectly reasonable question as to why Two-inch Dick and his buddies needed detailed maps of Iraqi oil fields. Production estimates, yes, but maps of the actual oil fields. C'mon dude, the sky is blue.
And as for the the National Review article, any sensible person can pretty much wipe his ass with anything from that band of tight-assed bitches.
"Myth #1: America turned off its allies. According to John Kerry, due to inept American diplomacy and unilateral arrogance, the United States failed to get the Europeans and the U.N. on board for the war in Iraq. Thus, unlike in Afghanistan, we find ourselves alone."
Way to go, Kerry. Speak the truth.
"In fact, there are only about 4,500-5,500 NATO troops in Afghanistan right now. The United States and its Anglo allies routed the Taliban by themselves."
That's nice, wonk, but the true comparison is with the Persian Gulf War, not Afghanistan. Nice diversion.
"NATO contingents in Afghanistan are not commensurate with either the size or the wealth of Europe."
Bogus statistic. Is the American presence in Afghanistan commensurate with our size and wealth? What does that even mean? Nothing, actually. Camoflauge.
"There are far more Coalition troops in Iraq presently than in Afghanistan."
The Coalition was created soley for the Bush war in Iraq. How could Coalition troops have been sent to Afghanistan before the Coalition was created? And speak of the obvious, the Bush war in Iraq is much bigger than the Bush campaign in Afghanistan. There are a lot more American troops in Iraq than Afghanistan, too.
"As in the Balkans, NATO and EU troops will arrive only when the United States has achieved victory and provided security."
Says who? And again, another bogus comparison. This guy will do anything but make the true comparison with the Persian Gulf.
"The same goes for the U.N., which did nothing in Serbia and Rwanda, but watched thousands being butchered under its nose."
As opposed to what the US did, which was...nothing, actually. But of course, we can blame that on Clinton. Cheesy jab at the UN. Good for making the right-wing nuts get all excited, but hardly relevant.
"It fled from Iraq after its first losses."
They had an office in Baghdad, filled with office workers, which left after it was bombed, as did many other organizations. Too bad the American occupiers couldn't provide the security they promised.
This dreamland bullshit goes on and on. There is hardly an assertion in this piece of butt wipe that you can't argue with.
One fantasyland statement did make me especially ill, though.
"We embraced the idealism and humanity to eschew realpolitik and offer something different in the place of mass murder"
Bush allegedly started his war to find WMD's, although we are finding out now that The Chimp was wanting to go to war in Iraq even before he, Rove, and his cronies had stolen the election. And if The Chimp's desire is to fight tyrants, what about North Korea, Iran, Zimbabwe, etc? The Chimp should be sounding a drumbeat, but is silent about those situations. Funny, especially since Kim Jong Il has killed ten times as many of his people as Saddam Hussein did his. Maybe Rove and his staff haven't told him about it. I'm sure that's it.
