Five years ago there was this 19 year old white kid on my street. He would sit in his car at 4 A.M. and play his subwoofewr car stereo real loud. You could hear it a block away.
We politely asked him not to do it, but he didn't care.
We called the police many times. Even when the police caught him in the act, they refused to fine him. (Noise pollution is a violation of property rights.)
Anyway, one night, someone Cheneyed up his car real good. After that he stopped.
Actually, the damage to the car was very minimal. Except it did make the car legally undrivable. And it was a big hassle to get it fixed. But it was enough to get the message accross. And it was clearly an act of self defense.
The police never did find out who did it.
Gee, I, I wonder who it could have been?
The police keep recordings of 911 calls for 90 days. I sure hope person who did it made sure to wait more than 90 days after his last call before doing it. Well, whoever he is, he's a hero, and everyone in the neighborhood is grateful.
