I've got to say that at least budget wise, they likely made a good choice. I'm assuming that all of the action will take place in this remote bar, which either means that they can likely find some run down bar out in rural America and pay a pretty low fee to shoot there or pretty easily create 1 small set for the whole movie.
Hmmm...but a remote bar ravaged by cannibalistic creatures? Doesn't that sound pretty close to Katherine Bigelow's "Near Dark"? And for those who haven't seen it, here's the imdb description:
"A mid-western farm boy reluctantly becomes a member of the undead when a girl he meets turns out to be part of a band of southern vampires who roam the highways in stolen cars. Part of his initiation includes a bloody assault on a hick bar."
