Jane Eyre (80) - yep, liked it
A tale of two cities (80) - yep, loved it.

War and peace (78) - tried. Will try again before I'm dead.
Vanity fair (74) - yep, loved it.
The Iliad (73) - kids version, along with loads of other myths.
Mrs. Dalloway (70)- yep. Don't really like Woolf.
Great expectations (70)- yep, but don't really like Dickens.
Atlas shrugged (67) -three pages, before my brainpan siezed up with boredom and irritation. I *hate* that fascist cow Rand.
Memoirs of a Geisha (66) - yep, kind of depressing.
Wicked : the life and times of the wicked witch of the West (65) - like the sound of this...who's it by?
The Canterbury tales (64) - of course. Nun's Priest Tale is always good for a chuckle. Pertelotte indeed.

Brave new world (61) - several times as a kid.

The satanic verses (55) - tried, but didn't like it. I absolutely *adored* The Moor.
The picture of Dorian Gray (55) - yep, as a kid, around eight, nine.

Gulliver's travels (53)- yes. hard work.

Cryptonomicon (50)- Neal Stephenson rocks. No. Though I loved 'Quicksilver' despite it's many character and narrative flaws.
Dubliners (50) - yep, as a fresher. I had to hand in a paper.
The unbearable lightness of being (49) - tried, found it well,pretty unbearable. I think Kundera is pretty pretentious, not insightful at all.
The scarlet letter (48) - yep, fascinating. Though I think Hawthorne has nothing like the empathy and intellect of Melville.

The catcher in the rye (46) as a kid. Loved it. Still do.
On the road (46) yep, at thirtieen. Thought they were all pretty self-absorbed, though later got to like Kerouac himself.
The hunchback of Notre Dame (45)- yep. Love French ninetheeth-century novels, esp Zola.

Gravity's rainbow (44) Tried, too hard-going. Loved 'Vineland.'
