The book of Lamentations tells us:
The precious children of Zion,
worth their weight in fine gold—
[n]ow they are reckoned as earthen pots,
the work of a potter’s hands!
Even the jackals offer the breast
and nurse their young,
but my people has become cruel...
The tongue of the infant sticks
to the roof of its mouth for thirst;
the children beg for food,
but no one gives them anything.
Apparently, there are no depths to which Pres. Bush cannot sink. This morning, he chose the health of health care executives over that of poor children. There is no reason to veto the SCHIP legislation other than blind ideology. If you weren't convinced yet that Bush lacks the milk of human kindness, you should be now.
The man has made himself lower than a jackal.
