'Lowest Common Denominator' more like.

This is what happens when the concept of public service gets shafted. Out goes 'in the public interest' too. And with it, education. That means critical thinking, and critical thinkers don't tend to be green-goo-for-brains unthinking consumers.

There is no 'Public.' It's long since been split into market segments, fed whatever pap/celeb goo the supply- side decides.

Want to know who's really orchestrating social control? Look no further than ownership/distribution.....

I mean, why should X-RightWingNut have the monopoly on conspiracy theories?
