12/22/05: I prefer Lyne's

but it's been so long since I saw Kubrick adaptation, I don't know...

I think Lyne's version is more truthful to the book; the Quilty character, for instance. Quilty is a bastard in the book, and he's a bastard in Lyne's movie, but he just comes across as a oddball in Kubrick version. Again, it's been a while since I watched that Lolita...
