I'm fucking psychic!! No Pompey, I'm not Trickycracker. But I can't believe that I actually happened on this thread the same night that you posted that question. Equally amazing is that this thread started up again and I didn't even know about it.
I was doing my nightly random search at Freeride on the Go.com engine, and a post by Caligula (of all things) was the first item on the page when I looked up "Philm Phan." It was dated '97 and when I clicked on it I found the old thread. Last I heard about it was when Richard claimed back in the Blade argument a couple years ago that IT was the *only* worthy feminist argument at Cranky's, and thus he wasn't going to participate in any more conversations on the subject. It's umm...strange that he would take it up again here when he wouldn't take up the subject with gdog and Discord.
When I hit the back button, I was curiously transported to this new thread and started reading it. Up until a few posts ago, I could have sworn that it was no longer active!
One of the things that shocked me most was that Caligula claimed to be on the "unpopular" side. What?!?! As long as *I've* been here misogyny has reigned. That didn't make any sense to me at all. In fact when I first got here 3 years ago, I wasn't anywhere near being an "outspoken feminist." It's only after posting in this environment that I started to really dig in my heels.
I think I'll save my comments on this ongoing thread for another time.
