Damn, what can I say that hasn't been covered? A man and woman, if they are lead characters, must fuck. They can never be just friends (Jerry Maguire) Women seem to be attracted to brash, cocky assholes (Top Gun, Empire Strikes Back) If a black man is wrongly accused of a crime, he must be defended by an ultra-liberal white man (Time to Kill, To Kill a Mockingbird) If a movie is trying to create symapthy for someone on death row, that convict is always white, even though most men executed are black. The Mafia and Western outlaws are depicted as heroes instead of the criminal scumbags that they are(The Godfather, the Wild Bunch) If a person has never handled a heavy machine gun before, they will pick it up and as soon as someone says, "hey, don't touch that!", the gun will somehow start firing wildly and anyone standing in the vicinity will not be killed or wounded, and the idiot holding the gun will hold it until it is out of ammo, instead of doing the smart thing and letting go of it! (The Wild Bunch again) People can be punched in the mouth, yet not lose any teeth. Huh, looks like I had a lot to say after all.
