from my sources of information, baiser has the meaning to fuck since the 12th century at least so they say in the "que sais-je ? Les gros mots" of the very serious "Presses Universitaires de France": "...ainsi au sens sexuel, baiser, avoir et foutre datent tous trois du XIIe siècle." Le dictionnaire de l'Académie française is indeed the one which dictates french language but they're always a bit slow on recording how "people" really speak. France has never been a prude nation, don't forget.
