1) I only give bad advice to people I don't like. Speaker doesn't have to worry.
2) If your story is good enough in the first place, no halfway decent story editor is going to reject it, no matter how many other people you've sent it to. As long as you'll sign the release form for his magazine first, they seriously don't give a shit. Finding a quality story for their magazine impresses their bosses a lot more than playing Magnum P.I. and rejecting a good story because it's author submitted it to two different magazines.
And quit fucking lecturing me about the sanctity of writing. Yeah, it's hard work. Yeah, rejection every day. Yeah, true writers, dedication, blah blah fucking blah. Want some cheese with that whine?
