I like Kevin Spacey, I really do, The Ref was one of my all time favorite movies (just like goin' home for the holidays without the bruises) BUT, this movie sucked balls. Ok, so first he's an alien, then he's a catatonic? Make up your fuckin' mind already! We were presented with unrefutable medical evidence that his eyes can see more wavelengths of light than we humans (I suppose most of us at this site are human, right?) can. But then, oooh, we get sidetracked by this idiot doctor, into thinking he's really just a screwed up human, but the ending is conveniently left open by the disappearance of the psycho-girl. Actually, I think this Dr did more harm than good. Whatever happened do "Do no harm"? He came in highly functioning, and ended in a wheelchair. Fact is, that non-violent, non-insured, non-homicidal, non-suicidal psychotics are usually kicked out of the hospital faster than you can say "Go back to being homeless". Anyway, the point is, that the creators of this movie couldn't make up thier minds if he is or isn't an alien, they were probably distracted by butt fucking each other during bad episodes of the X-Files. And the hypnosis sequences were more freakin' nauseating than "Cybil" without a goddamn point.
