Absolutely right on Filmbuff! LAC was ROBBED...and I am sorry to say, not only of Oscars, but of nominations as well. Agree on Spacey...but also feel Crowe and Pearce were sadly overlooked in Best Actor cat. Until I saw this film, I had no idea Kim could act...and, act she did! She was superb. As were the sets, lighting, look, feel, sound, story, characters...etc. Hell, even Ellroy LOVED the film!
