Why on earth do people consider this a great film? I rented it recently and found it painfully predictable. Everyone who talks about L.A. Confidential seems to say it's the best noir flick since Chinatown, but I just didn't find it engaging at all. Maybe people liked it because when it came out they weren't already tired of Jack Nicholson, the way I am now.
