Scene One - Thursday night
Skilly and Slothrop are leaving a movie theatre. Their voices are lowered, but a form within the shadows overhears bits of their conversation.
“I don’t know, Sloth. That’s a big commitment; you should have checked with me first,” Skilly’s voice sounds merely annoyed to her companion. The form within the shadows, however, hears anger.
“Skills, don’t be mad, okay? I was just thinking of us.”
“No, you were thinking of you. This is moving a little fast for me, and I need some time to think.”
She pulls away from her companion, and the two walk together out of range.
Grundle emerges from his hiding place and rubs his hands together, “Oooh, gossip. Of course, she wouldn’t have any problems like that if she were dating a nice guy, but women never learn.” He sneers and slinks away into the night.
