Scene 14 - Monday after lunch
Violet calls to the stand eminent psychiatrist, Throwing Muses.
“Mr. Muses, did you examine the prosecution’s witness?”
“Yes, I did. The witness for the prosecution feels persecution,” Throwing Muses muses.
“What else did you learn about the witness?”
“He’s a libertarian.”
The jury gasps.
LRT jumps to his feet, “I object! And I fine this witness one bottle of Jack Daniels.”
LHJ Wreck interrupts, “Mr. Round Top, first of all, we all object to the fact that Grundle is a libertarian. Hell, even the libertarians object. And secondly, you can’t fine the witnesses to support your alcohol habit.”
“Damn,” LRT slumps back into his chair.
“Anything else? ” LHJ Wreck asks. LRT just shakes his head. “Then let us continue.”
Violet, trying to get back on track, asks LHJ Wreck if he would have the court reporter read back the last few minutes of testimony.
Court reporter mendo looks up, “What? Oh me? Now? Wow. Lol man. Well, this dude, he was yelling, and this other dude, he was yelling too, and, “ he pauses, sits back down for a moment, scratches his head. Everyone’s still looking at him, expectantly. He rises again, “peace and love, man,” sits back down.
“Never mind,” LHJ Wreck speaks up. “We’ll stop for this afternoon, and start again in the morning.”
