Another con for "BW2": In a poll conducted sometime in the twilight of '99, both Parca and I (both die-hard horror fans, both fans of "BW1") named "Blair Witch Project Part 2" as the sequel we least wanted to see. (Well, that and "Baby Geniuses 2"... which is probably in the pipeline as we speak...) What does this mean? Simply put, this is one of the most unnecessary follow-ups ever conceived. If it was any more transparently about the need to capitalize on a big thing, Trimark or Dimension would be releasing it. Yes, I still kind of want to see it (mainly out of morbid curiosity, but I do kind of like the premise), but I'm enough of a realist to accept that it'll most likely be crapola.

Oh, yeah... and for those of you care, the significant limited releases of the week are the award-winning "A Time for Drunken Horses", The Shooting Gallery's latest release "Loving Jezebel", Gerard Depardieu's directorial effort "The Bridge" and the excellent film-fest hit "George Washington", which I saw at the NYFF. I highly recommend that you go see that if you can.
