I love the other Coen bros. movies, especially Fargo and Raising Arizona which are in my all time favorite top 10. But the Coens can't possibly be Southern or know the South or they would not have made the horrible remake of the Ladykillers. The characters were caricatures. The African American church music was wonderful, and was the closest to the reality of some piece of the south. The other parts of the movie were simply silly, as bad as the movie The Beverly Hillbillies (and I loved the TV show, so it's not just the genre that I hated). I also loved the silly Ernest movies with Jim Varney, but he was more believable than the characters in this movie! Southern, My Ass!
