..mostly, as you said, the cheap factor and the lack of acting..

And the ending is probably the cheesiest of any of the dead movies (that that black guy could run around and take out Zombies in one shot with his revolver...blah)

But Romero definitely had an interesting idea there..

And it's hard to deny the impact it had on the genre..

How many zombie movies since then have been set in a military bunker or base of some sort?
