Beast,
As far as "Hardcore" metal, I was basically referring to people who listen to metal and metal *only* as opposed to being somewhat diverse. For example: I have a nieghbor that's 19 years old and suprising to me is really into Ratt, Dokken, and Whitesnake. He considers himself to be a "hardcore" fan. I have another nieghbor that is into ANYTHING with guitar solos and guys with long hair. She likes bands anywhere from Poison to Sepultura and Bon Jovi to Mercyful Fate. She's quite diverse but "hardcore"?
?????
I don't know, Beast. The last I recall, the *real* Hardcore bands that I know of would have to be: Deicide (I used to be in a band with Eric and Brian Hoffman LONG before their career in death metal), Cannibal Corpse, Death, Deaths Angel, old Corrosion of Conformity, Morbid Angel, Nasty Savage, Kreator, Michael Bolton (just kiddin'), Sepultura, Possessed, Venom and I would think Slayer. I really have not followed it as much as I did in the 80's.
Even though I have ventured into the realm of dance music - and I DO like it - my roots are deep into rock and metal. I normally listen to bands like: Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Racer X, and an army of instrumental metal guitarists like Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore and Jason Becker.
Send some new stuff my way...
Later
