09/29/96: Just Like A Dying Carp

!pang,

I understand and appreciate your view. I've never seen any scene like that and probably never will, because it is such a disturbing idea to contemplate. If we ever had an "action flick" redone in a serious dramatic fashion it would be one of the most gruesome and disturbing films in the history of the industry. I don't like to think that anyone would actually do a film with the violent death of a child on-screen, but if it someone did it would certainly make me stop and think if not become physically ill with shock and horror. The very idea is the reason that Schindler's List and Medea can be so effective dramatically. It's not pretty to contemplate but it does hit home.

Glad Someone's Engaging Him In Thoughtful Conversation,
