The guns Bruce Willis used in this movie were M1911 (known more commonly as the 45 Automatic). It was adopted by the military in 1911 (thus the M1911 designation). True to Hollywood shlock they did fire many more bullets before needing reloaded than the real gun holds (ala, every John Wayne movie ever made, or so it seems). I was glad to see that I am not the only person who saw this as a bad re-make of "Fist Full of Dollars" classic Leone.
