I just received an e-mail from a very interesting person named broncodrver@yahoo.com, who informed me in a most eloquent manner that there were a few errors in my message above. His exact words were that I was a "dumb shit" and that I need to do my research better. While I disagree with his tone, I do admit that he is right. He is not correct in saying that I am a dumb shit (I do not know this person, so I am pretty sure that he does not know me, and therefore cannot make assumptions about my intelligence), but he is correct that there are errors in my message.
I mistakenly assumed that the director of "Last Man Standing" ripped off Sergio Leone's classic "A Fistful of Dollars," but have learned that Leone himself was inspired by Akira Kurasawa's film "Yojimbo." I have not seen "Yojimbo," so I can make no judgments about its content. Therefore, I still cite similarities between "Last Man Standing" and "A Fistful of Dollars," and think that Leone pulled it off better. But however he pulled it off, he got his ideas from Kurasawa, and I can only assume that Kurasawa was even more artistic.
So, I apologize for not acknowledging "Yojimbo." Unlike many other Americans, I can actually admit when I am wrong.
I doubt that broncodrver@yahoo.com will actually read this. Perhaps he will. He might be the person who posted the response you see above this one. I could insult him, but I will not. I think it would be immature of me to say that he sodomizes farm animals, and thinks about his grandfather when he jerks off. I will also not comment on the fact that he has the IQ of bird shit and that he enjoyed the remake of "Rollerball," as well as that movie with Carrot Top. I guess I'm just too nice a guy.
