I think that he falls into my "solid directors whose movies I will generally go to see" category. You pretty much know what you will get with a Zwick film -- a good but not great film with above average cinematography. "Glory" is clearly his best film & I would say that "Samurai" is a sloid 2nd. "Legends of the Fall" & "Courage Under Fire" were both decent films, more rentals than movies to see in the theater (but, they do need to be seen on the big screen). "The Siege" was really his only misstep, but I never saw "Leaving Normal" (anyone?)
