if it's the gun with the crank, it's an 1877 gattlen which is an improvement upon the 1863 gattlen which was designed by dr. john gattlen as a way to end the civil war early. if you're talking about the guns the infantry were carrying, they were 1875, 75, or 76 springfield arms bolt action.
