Two things, though...
Lucy, like Dr. Laura, would never marry a man with a significant career. She'd marry some nobody who would be supportive and take care of the house & kids.
I think it'd work a bit better (and be *way* more in character) if Peppermint Patty had, um, experimented with Marcy prior to the public rejection and humiliation.
