You say "passionately defending her position," I say "wallowing in her preconceptions."
She made it clear that she'd rather cling to her preconceived notions than attempt to discuss the topic rationally, and I merely noted that if those were the only options, she could cling away with no further input from me.
As for forgiveness, did I ask for an apology? That would involve further interaction with her, which, as I said, would be a waste of time.
