How many goddam times are ignorant fucks like Marion going to bring up the Stella lawsuit? She is constantly being used as an example of a frivolous lawsuit, when actually her lawsuit was entirely justified.
Read carefully:
She was NOT driving the car. She was in the passenger seat.
The car was NOT in motion at the time of the accident. The driver had pulled over to allow her to put sugar in her coffee.
She was SEVERELY burned by the spilled coffee.
She had to be HOSPITALIZED.
She did NOT receive millions of dollars in damages. She got her hospital bill paid, that is all.
McDonalds had received THOUSANDS of complaints about the coffee being too hot, but refused to do anything about it until this lawsuit.
The lawsuit accomplished EXACTLY what such lawsuits are supposed to accomplish. It's too bad that poor woman had to go through so much suffering to accomplish it.
And just for the record, Marion, The Doc was being very polite to you, and what you said to him was very insulting.
