11/09/00: Homeboy's Criticisms Are Valid.

The alien in the first movie does grow at a tremendous rate, seemingly, without any energy. The movie doesn't explain how it got from a little one foot high creature, to something as large as a full grown man without ingesting food. This is a flaw in the film.

Also, the size of the creature kept changing. One moment it's as big as a house and has long tentacles, the next, it's the size of a man.

I've also wondered how the hell that android got into the control room after Ripley closed the door. Ripley assumes command of the ship, and the first thing she does is access and read the mission files. The door to the control room opens and closes with a loud swoosh, but yet, as she's coming to the realization that the crew is expendable, the android somehow manages to get into the control room (which only Ripley has access to as the new officer in command), without the door making a sound.

Ah, well, it was only a movie. A big budget remake of IT, THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE.
